Welcome to the Mike Holton - Hand Made Crafts website

Although I am relatively new to the craft of wood turning, I’m not to the world of creative art. I started turning a few short years ago with the aim of realising some of the creative concepts I have been considering for some time.

I have decades of experience working in many different fields of design from metal to wood and stone to the digital arts so turning is just another step in my journey.

Design has always been a passion of mine which I love to share as well as do and I have been teaching design at a local university for over 20 years.

The work I produce now is a synergy of elements bought together to be pleasing to the eye and beautiful to the touch. The objects I create are designed to please in different ways because wood is a warm living material and needs to have a reassuring sturdiness to it.
